Beatriz (preferably Bea) is a Portuguese multidisciplinary designer and artist. Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, she enjoys the balance of remote work at Automattic, designing WordPress themes and contributing to the WordPress Open Source project.

Beatriz's professional journey started out in 2016 with an internship in a small advertising agency — a collision of two very different worlds, right after finishing her college degree in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. It was with disappointment, but also clarity, that she found the future of her career wasn't in advertising agencies.

She then took a new challenge working as a Graphic Designer in a small wine exporting company based in Lisbon, where she was able to explore many mediums and where she developed a particular interest for digital design, which propelled her next challenge.

Over the course of 5 years, Beatriz has worked as a freelance designer for several clients around the world, helping build timeless and meaningful design solutions. Her solid graphic design skills and strategic thinking allow her to bring beautiful and consistent work to life.

Today, she is dedicated full-time to Automattic where she designs WordPress themes and contributes to the WordPress open source project.

Beatriz shares her thoughts about personal growth, wisdom and spirituality on the blog Musings&Musings. She curates fashion, design and art on Pallas Sense, a visual inspiration blog. And when at the peak of her creativity, she sings and records her own music.

Although she keeps an eye on trends, she's more into timeless designs and is moved by a balanced, purposeful life. She enjoys working remotely and is driven by great aesthetics and ancient wisdom.

Beatriz'z work has been published in online publications and websites such as Semplice Showcase, The Gallery and Mindsparkle Mag.

She is currently not available for freelance work, but is always interested in music collaborations or smaller design projects. You can reach out to her via email.
